Anfisa, a determined entrepreneur is pursuing her dream despite vindictive communists and corrupted cops; her tough brother Roma, a Chechen war veteran and famous fish warden; and her husband Alexei, an infamous conman. The story is narrated by Anfisa’s horse Socrates who, loaded with smuggled caviar is slowly making his way to Alaska past soviet ghost towns and chic tourist resorts; volcanic craters and black sand beaches of Kamchatka - Far Eastern Russian peninsula that's closer to LA than Moscow.
